The Shihpoo is a carefully bred hybrid breed of dog generated by crossing a shih tzu and a poodle. Shihpoo puppies are extremely intelligent and are generally considered lapdogs. A very sweet-tempered little puppy, the Shihpoo requires minimal exercise as an adult. Shihpoo puppies are excellent with children and other pets as they are very mild mannered. They can be fragile as young puppies and therefore care must be exercised when little children are roughhousing with these puppies.
While minimal care is needed in taking care of this small breed, the Shihpoo has a long coat that requires regular grooming. The coat can either be straight and flowing similar to the coat of the shih tzu or curly/wavy similar to the coat of the poodle.
Fun-loving, playful and always exuberant, the shihpoo makes a great addition to any family looking for a new member.
