The Lhasa Apso originated in Tibet where they were solely bred by the nobles. The Lhasa
Apso today is more domesticated in behavior and are treated more like lapdogs than the
watchdogs they were originally. Lhasa Apso puppies are sweet tempered, calm and intelligent
puppies. They are eager to learn and obey and they are great pack followers. Lhasa Apso
adults are great with kids and other pets as long as they are well socialized as puppies.
The Lhasa Apso has a long, flowing coat if left uncut. They require regular grooming due to
the fact that they have hair not fur. They require very little exercise but of course they
always desire human affection.
Lhasa Apso dogs are easy to travel with due to their compact size. They are not known to be
disruptive dogs with excessive barking or aggressive traits. They are innately mild mannered
and eager to please.
