Originally from Newfoundland, Canada, the Labrador was brought to England in the 1800's by
English ships coming from Labrador. They remain a steadfast companion and a very popular breed.
It is a loving, affectionate, obedient, patient dog with a kind heart and intelligent expression.
Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water and love to swim with their
naturally webbed toes acting as swim-fins. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and spirited, they have
an excellent, reliable temperament and are friendly, superb with children and easy-going with
other dogs. They quickly become part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are
watchdogs, not guard dogs. Trained Labradors can hunt, track, retrieve, detect narcotics, guide
the blind, aid the disabled, search and rescue. They are one of the best family dogs and loving
companion of any breed and highly recommended for families with children.
The Labrador Retriever is good in an apartment but does need exercise. They do run around
somewhat indoors but need room to run outside. You'll find that ball playing and Frisbee tossing
to be a big hit with your new puppy!
The smooth, short-haired, double coat is easy to groom. Comb and brush regularly with a firm
bristle brush, paying attention to the undercoat. Bathe or dry shampoo only when necessary.

We have 1 location in East Meadow, Long Island which is located in the NY (Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island), New Jersey NJ, Connecticut CT area.
