Bulldogs are descendants of the Asiatic mastiff, but their development took place in Great
Britain. Their disposition is agreeable and kind, resolute and courageous but not vicious or
aggressive with a friendly but dignified attitude.
Bulldogs grow to be medium size and have a smooth short coat and heavyset, portly but
muscular body, massive short-nosed head, wide shoulders, short, sturdy limbs short thick
neck. They have great stability, vigor and strength. The Bulldog's jaw is massive, very broad,
and square and the lower jaw protrudes out in front of the upper jaw and turns up and the
lower teeth also protrude. The skin on the head and forehead has thick folds. It has a short
mouth and a short broad black nose with large nostrils. Eyes are very round, far apart and
very dark. The ears are small and thin and folded back. The tail is short and points down. The
Bulldog comes in red, fawn, pale yellow or washed-out red, or white, and can be a
combination any of these colors. Bulldogs walk with an adorable waddle. These are dogs with
tons of personality and there is nothing more adorable than an eight week old puppy!
These are gentle dogs; but they will chase away any intruder, because nobody would try to
take on a bulldog. Always very affectionate and dependable, gentle with children, but known
for its courage and makes an excellent watchdog. Bulldogs are people dogs and appreciate
human attention. This breed is also good with other family pets. Bulldog puppies are full of
life and enjoy dressing up in sweaters and sunglasses! These are cool dogs!
You'll find this breed to be a great indoor pet that does well apartments and doesn't need a
yard. Bulldogs can get chilly easily in cold weather and need air conditioning in very hot
weather. (Don't we all!) Be sure to buy them warm doggy clothing for Winter.
Bulldogs are happy with minimal exercise but are good ballplayers and surprisingly fast
considering their dimensions.
They have smooth, fine, short-hair that is easy to groom. Bathe them only when they need
it. Wipe its face with a damp cloth every day to clean inside the wrinkles.
